Why the hell did I finish this?

Rosario + Vampire is about the young man Tsukune Aono. Due to poor grades, he can’t get into a private academy and has to go to Youkai Academy. Turns out the school is for monster and human beings are strictly prohibted. Though the monster are disguised as humans and can’t show their monster form to anyone. The first student he meets is Moka Akashiya, a vampire. Moka likes the smell of Tsukune very much and immedeatly sucks the blood from his neck. When Tsukune finds out what kind of school he is attending, he leaves back to home. But finding out the schoolbus only arrives once in 2 months, he is forced to attend anyway.

When Tsukune gets beaten up for liking Moka, and Moka has taken a liking to him too, Moka tries to rescue him. Overpowered by the monster that has an eye on Moka, Tsukune accidently removes the rosary on her neck. This makes her reveal her true self and kicks and stomps the living crap out of her opponents. That’s basically what happens every episode, her smashing down her opponents. Along the way, Tsukune meets other girls that apparently like him too, pretty bizarre really. All are stereotype too, the large breasted horndog, the smart loligirl, the ice woman and the mysterious gothic chick.

Animation was average, most of the episodes looked alright. I like the art style, but sometimes, some shoots looked pretty ugly. The only episode where the studio spilled some budget was episode 10 and that was the only episode that looked really good, especially the action scenes. The only thing they did right were the pantyshots and fan service. The music is dull and repetive, the ending theme was kinda neat though.

This is pretty much your generic ecchi anime with action scenes and fan service. Why did I finish this? Well, it was more like that I saw an awesome page of Tsukune, and I was hoping that that would be revealed in this season. There will also be a second season, it will start in october. Might pick it up anyway, I have lots of hope, since I have been told the manga is way better. Just don’t watch this unless you’re a real ecchi show lover, this is just garbage.

I AM BOSS!

Delicious?
This is just one of those slice of life series that makes you want to keep watching. The humour is really dry and sudden and not as repeative as goddamn Lucky Star. And of course, Kana and Chiaki steal the show with their double act, though everybody has something that makes him/her funny and special.
To compare this series, I would have to compare it to Azumanga Daioh. Kana is a mixture of Tomo and Osaka. Chiaki is Chiyo-chan, but way more evil and Haruka is a mixture of Yomi and Sakaki. These three girls’ lives are far from normal and their adventures are very amusing. Wheter they go to school, cook or have fun at the beach, it always turns out not exactly as planned. It’s not as hilarious as Azumanga Daioh, but it really has its moments.

Peak-a-boo!
Animation is solid and the art style is fresh. One thing that made me kind of frown were the sudden Bible Black faces that would appear. When there were facial or eye close ups, you would see their faces in Bible Black style, not that I’m complaing or anything, the Bible Black art style is simply gorgeous. I didn’t really pay attention to the music, but some tunes did fit the scenes.

Bible Black-ke.
Maybe it’s the art style, characters or the anything really, this made me keep watching and saying to myself ‘one more and I’ll call it a day.’ Hah, I finished this is one in 4 days. Says something about it doesn’t it? It’s probably because the characters are pretty silly, it makes you chuckle nonetheless and seeing them being silly, or stupid in Kana’s case, is pretty fun.

SOOOIYAH!
All in all, this is a really solid comedy that leans on it’s excentric characters and silly situations. I really enjoyed it and when I saw the preview of the next season, I just almost wanted to hang myself. I mean, look at this. 13 episodes short, though there is a second season, but from what I’ve heard and seen, it’s just not the same. Complete art style change and the jokes aren’t funny, plus it leans on the ecchi side too.
